ABOUT PAL THEATRE

Sprung dance floors, and support from our professional technicians and an impressive sound system make PAL studio theatre a great rental venue for a party or concert. Musicians will love the beautiful 6-foot Yamaha C-3 grand piano available onsite.
The theatre is located on the top floor of an eight-story building at the foot of Georgia Street, built in 2006. It enjoys a private reception area complete with a kitchen, large dressing room, and restroom facilities. Just outside of the reception area is a large outdoor patio. This professionally designed garden patio with views of the Burrard Inlet and the North Shore mountains is the perfect rental space for cocktail parties, corporate events or wedding receptions.

RULES & REGULATIONS
For your own safety and the comfort of our residents, there are a few points to be aware of when renting the Theatre.
Maximum Capacity-
150 guests, reception style

100 guests, seated

120 guests, when alcohol is served
Set-up and Take-down

Evening events: you will have access to theatre by 6pm on the night of your event

Day events: this will be determined based on your event start time

Additional set-up and take-down time can be negotiated for an additional cost
Last Call & Facility Hours*

Last call for alcohol is 11 pm.

All guests must exit the building by midnight.
*Please note: we are not able to make any exceptions to these hours, under any circumstances.
Alcohol-
You are permitted to serve alcohol at your event with a special occasion license (BC Liquor Stores).

The kitchen countertop opens to the reception area, providing an ideal place to serve drinks.

The Theatre can provide a bar staff for your event. Please contact us for details.

Rental clients are required to provide a copy of a standard $2 million certificate of insurance naming PAL Vancouver and PAL Studio Theatre as the additional insured parties.

If alcohol is being served, liquor liability insurance is also required.
*Please note: Proof of insurance must be provided two weeks in advance of your event, or we will be required to cancel the event at your expense. Please contact us early to make sure you acquire the appropriate insurance forms for renting PAL Studio Theatre!
PAL Studio Theatre Technical Staff:

At least two PAL Studio Theatre staff members will be present for all events.

These staff are available to:

- assist with the set-up and take-down of technical elements
-
- troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise
-
- provide lighting and/or sound operations during live performances
-
- maintain building and patron safety, and
-
- perform Front of House duties (if required, for public events).

Given its unique location on the eighth-floor of a residential building, rental clients will want to schedule staff or volunteers to act as ushers.

Ushers are typically located at the main door (1st floor), the 8th floor, and the elevator.

PAL Vancouver Technical Staff will work with your ushers to ensure your audiences, friends and/or family members feel welcomed, and can easily find their way to your event.

SOUND EQUIPMENT
Our system will provide excellent sound for your presentation, dance, or performance. PAL Studio Theatre is pleased to provide professional in-house technicians to meet your sound and lighting requirements.
*Please note: For insurance and safety reasons, our technical sound and light equipment may only be operated by PAL personnel.

FOOD & BEVERAGE
Rental clients are welcome to bring their own food and beverages to PAL Studio Theatre. We have a small kitchen for storing food as well as a large dressing room that can be used as a space for catering set-up/storage.

KITCHEN & FACILITIES
Kitchen:
The PAL Studio Theatre kitchen has the perfect open-concept arrangement for serving food and drinks to the reception area. It is complete with a fridge, stove, sink, microwave, dishwasher, and plenty of counter space.
Restrooms:
Modern clean restrooms are easily accessible from the reception. The women’s restroom has three (3) stalls; the men’s restroom has one (1) stall and two (2) urinals. There is also a small private washroom inside the private dressing room.
Dressing Room:
Included in your rental fee, this large, bright workspace is accessible from either the reception area (making it perfect for caterers) or from the theatre (making it perfect for the bride’s dramatic entrance.) There are eight (8) well-lit prep stations in the dressing room, including dressing curtain dividers and two (2) wardrobe racks. The dressing room has four (4) sinks, a fridge, a private restroom, and plenty of storage space.

PARKING
The theatre is easily accessible by BC transit with bus stops on West Georgia just three minutes away. If you are driving, there is street metered parking and many pay parking lots close by.

RATES
Our rental rates vary significantly depending on the nature of your event and your requirements.
After requesting a reservation, we will ask you to complete a questionnaire regarding technical staff required, length of time, and specific rental needs.With the completed questionnaire, we can provide you with an accurate quote for your event. Typically, you can expect your facility rental fee to range from between $600 and $2,500 depending on length and complexity.
PAL Studio Theatre is pleased to offer a significant discount to non-profit organizations.

DEPOSIT
To secure your booking date, a security/damage deposit is required. The dollar amount of this deposit will vary with each event.

SOCAN LICENSE FEES
PAL Studio Theatre is a proud supporter and beneficiary of the professional performing arts.
Concert presenters are responsible for ensuring that appropriate fees are paid to SOCAN (Society of Arrangers and Composers of Canada.)
If events other than concerts involving music, PAL Studio Theatre will collect and remit a fee to SOCAN on your behalf.
